Barrakitika, in the historical centre, is
a relaxed
spot where tourists and locals meat each other
while listening to talented live-bands, Brazilian
and/or foreign music. The food that the restaurant
serves is also of good quality.
Dos Milionários in the south is a restaurant -
pizzeria of outstanding quality thanks to the
presence of chef de cuisine “Dió” in the kitchen.
They serve a wide variation in quality meat- and
fish dishes and have one of the best pizzas in
town. You can also visit their cozy poolside
Cocktail Bar for a refreshing drink. The restaurant-
bar is situated inside the De Marchesi guesthouse.
Bar Vesuvio became famous thanks to the world
famous writer Jorge Amado who used to write his
novels there and even used the Bar Vesuvio aS
décor in one of his books. There is a statue placed
on the spot where he always used to sit. The bar
has a very tranquil feel about it with live music,
mostly bossa nova, and people who enjoy their
drink while having a conversation.
