 Barra Grande region - It's paradise!
Most of the beaches in this tropical region are tremendous.
The “Taipus de Fora” beach on the peninsula
of Maraú in the Barra Grande region
is even considered one of the most beautiful beaches in
Brazil! At low tide, the water that
stays trapped in between the coral forms a big
natural swimming pool where you can go

Itacaré
region
About 18 km south of Barra Grande, you will
find the Itacaré region. Itacaré used to
be a
quiet, little fishermen’s village about a decade
ago but the town is now among one of the
most popular destinations among both Brazilian
and foreign travelers.
Despite of the tourist boom, Itacaré has not lost
its charming atmosphere. The village itself has
some splendid beaches and the surrounding
Atlantic rainforest, with its hidden waterfalls,
is perfect for ecotourism.

Along the 65km of coastal road from Itacaré to
the city of Ilhéus you will find spectacular and

Plans to build a new international airport
between Ilhéus and Itacaré have already
been
approved. In the feature this will surely have a
